About the Author
Nutritionist and author, Kate Tierney began her love affair with smoothies in 2001 after tasting delicious recipes from her local smoothie bar. “When smoothies became hip and trendy, I wanted to know what all the fuss was about,” said Tierney. “Much to my surprise, the nasty looking green concoction I was handed from behind the smoothie counter tasted absolutely delicious. That was it, I was hooked.” Moving her new interest to her kitchen, Kate began to experiment with various different fruit and vegetables to create that perfect smoothie.
After noticing subtle changes to her health such as increased energy levels, clearer skin and much improved PMS, Kate realised the significant role a healthy diet plays on the body and mind. Training as a nutritionist was the next natural step for her and since qualifying, she has helped her clients achieve their dietary goals.
